How does the waitlist work in Yelp Reservations?

When a party walks in but you don't have any open tables, you can add guests to the waitlist from the website or the iPad app. With SMS notifications enabled, they'll receive a text confirming they're on the list. Once they're on the list, you can pull up the party's name and send SMS updates as needed.

To add a guest to the waitlist

From the website
  1. Log in and choose your location from the Yelp Reservations dashboard
  2. Go to the Floor tab in the sidebar and select the Waitlist button in the bottom left corner
  3. Begin entering the name, and any matching guests already in the guest book will pop up
  4. Select from existing guests in the guest book or continue adding the new guest
  5. Enter the party size, quote time and any other Reservation Notes
  6. Click Add to Waitlist
  7. When a table is ready, click and drag the desired party from the waitlist to the table. If you need multiple tables, drag the full party to one table (even if it exceeds capacity), and then click the table and click the reservation to edit it and select more tables.
From the iPad app
  1. Go to the Floor tab in the sidebar and select the Waitlist button in the bottom left corner
  2. Begin entering the name, and any matching guests already in the guest book will pop up
  3. Select from existing guests in the guest book or continue adding the new guest
  4. Enter the party size, quote time and any other Notes
  5. Tap Add
  6. When a table or combination of tables is ready, tap and hold on the desired party in the waitlist until the floor plan displays table capacities
  7. Drag the party to the desired table. If you need multiple tables, drag the full party to one table (even if it exceeds capacity) first. Then drag and drop an empty table on top of the seated party.
