How can we help?

Why would a review not be recommended?

There are a number of reasons why a review might not be recommended—maybe it may have been posted by a less active user or seems like an unhelpful rant.

Some reviews are less reliable (like ones we see originating from the same IP address) and some suggest an unfair bias (like the ones written by a friend of the business owner). We also may not recommend reviews from less active users where we don't know enough about them to recommend their opinions to our community.

It's also important to note that because our recommendation software is completely automated, no Yelp employee can manually override the software to recommend or not recommend a review. It applies the same objective rules to every business and treats reviews of advertisers and non-advertisers exactly the same.

We hope to continually improve the recommendation software, and appreciate any feedback you may have.
