Check-Ins are a way to keep track of the local businesses you visit and keep your friends updated with your latest comings and goings. Checking in can earn you badges (depending on where/when/how frequently), special offers, and (if you're dedicated) your very own digital kingdom.
Each time you check-in you will have the option to share your check-in—with your Yelp friends or on Twitter —or keep it private. If you choose to share a check-in on a Social Media site, the audience that can see the check-in will depend on your privacy settings for that platform. If you would like to change how businesses see your check-ins and other interactions on Yelp, update your Business Visibility Settings. Please note that it is currently not possible to share your check-ins on Facebook.
To view a list of your own check-ins, go to your profile and click or tap Check-Ins. Please note that once you've checked in or posted a check-in comment, these can't be edited or hidden, but you can request to have them removed by contacting our Support team.
To check in on iPhone
- Tap the Me button in the center
- Tap Check In
- Tap the desired business
- Choose how to share the check-in, and add a comment for your friends to see
- Tap Check In
To check in on Android
- Tap the Sidebar Menu button
- Tap Check In
- Tap the desired business
- Choose how to share the check-in, and add a comment for your friends to see
- Tap Check In
To see any badges you may have earned
- Log in to your account
- Tap the Me button
- Tap Badges
